Consegrity...Animals Love it Too!
By Marian Roper, RN, BScN, MCS
In all the excitement about Consegrity these past few months, I forgot
to write that it has amazing results for animals too. In fact, it is
because of my little dog Tennie that I discovered Consegrity. One of
his sources of help and friends is Dr. Donna Starita, a holistic veterinarian
from Oregon and she is the person who introduced me to Consegrity.
In fact, the class includes a session with a dog and it is always really
amazing to be there to witness the changes. Indeed, for the very first
time in all my travelling, I am able to leave Tennie without great pangs
of worry because the problems he consistently seemed to have when I
left him are resolving very, very well due to the Consegrity sessions
he has been having.
His itchy skin, hot spots, nervous tummy and intermittent sore hip
and paw from an old injury are all either completely resolved or clearly
understood and not the great concern they were to all of us who love
and care for Tennis. It's a great relief to all of us who love Tennie.
It was because of the results of Consegrity with animals and people
that 3 of the 4 people who went to Witchita with me from Alberta couldn't
wait until the class came to them in August. These 3 are horse people.
Indeed, two of them are a couple quite well known in Central Alberta
for their pony chuckwagon racing skills. They farm and ranch and knew
right away that Consegrity would make a great difference to the health
and skills of their animals.
On the lat day, at the last break in the Consegrity class, Marvin,
the farmer who has never taken any kind of class like this in his life,
looked at me and said,"you know what the worst thing about this
is?" His eyes looked kind of wet and sparkly as he answered his
own questions, "There's only 2 hours left and we have to go."
When horses and their riders have Consegrity sessions, the riders report
that they just have to think the thought and the horse responds. Their
unity is amazing and this is from the 2 junior Olympic riders that I
know and work with in Alberta. In fact, they are both intending to take
the classes coming to Olds, AB and Nanaimo.
Consegrity was first developed 10 years ago to help athletes (this
means animal athletes too) have sharp reflexes and decision making skills
and was only applied as a wellness and therapeutic tool for animals
and people over the last 5 years. Consegrity works wonderfully with
all living things - even plants. That's a topic for next time.
